Testimonials

  • Thank you very much for the opportunity to speak with your wonderful youth ambassadors. I was extremely impressed with the enthusiasm and interest of your participants. These are just the type of contacts and relationships Victoria Police wish to foster. The diversity of cultures and experiences your participants have lived is both humbling and inspirational and a credit to their individual resilience.

  • I can see my son as a leader but I ask myself where he will go to build, learn and practice leadership skills, and I worry a lot….Building la Nouvelle Generation Program will help my son to develop leadership skills, and help him create a connection within the community

  • We hear every day from our teachers that we need to lower our aspirations because we face many barriers – English as a second language, broken schooling, coming from another culture, war and so on…….and that aiming to be a lawyer or a doctor is unrealistic. What we really need is to hear the opposite advice, which is what we are hearing in the BNGL program! Thankyou.

We encourage young people to take part and learn from past alumni of the New Generations program, to dream big and also to look beyond their own world and become global citizens.

Big things come in small packages. You only have to look at the example of Nelson Mandela who came from a small village. The power is inside us, it’s not about our background. ‘‘You can achieve a lot with passion and education.

I was a poor kid with no education and little hope. In Africa I was 8 years old when our mother died, and it was my responsibility to look after my 3 younger siblings for 12 years until we came here. Australia has changed my life. I thank you all for your support and encouragement. You have given me, and others like me, hope for our future, in this great country.

A vital program that aims to close the unemployment gap through engagement, creating partnerships and direct interaction with community organizations, business and individuals that may otherwise never occur. Key to the program has been the commitment of the facilitators to listen to the real needs of the community and to make their ideas to grow.

I plan on studying International Law in Canberra and wanted to get a work experience placement in a local law firm. My career teacher said that she couldn’t find a placement in Law but that I should try a retail placement. She said it would still be relevant. Future Voices organized a placement through their networks, thankyou!

This program has been a great journey for me. Through this program I have met many leaders of our community whom I could only see on T.V. To be able to meet them in real life and knowing about the things they have done to become a leader is just amazing. I have learnt so much from them and now I feel that I am confident enough to apply that knowledge in my life to make our community better.

I am glad that we had the opportunity to meet the participants in the Leadership Program. They seem a very bright group and the questions they asked were very thoughtful … If in future you want to bring a group like that to court I would be happy to assist.
